How Salmamail works
A Salmamail inbox takes seconds to create and nothing to maintain. Here is the whole flow — plus what happens behind the scenes.
Get an address
Open Salmamail and a mailbox is created instantly. Keep the generated address, or generate new ones until you get a name you like. If you want to lock a mailbox, you can add a password — it is always optional.
Use it anywhere
Paste the address into sign-up forms, download gates, free trials, Wi-Fi portals, or your own test flows. It behaves like any normal email address.
Read your mail live
Incoming messages appear in the inbox as they arrive — no refresh needed. Verification links and one-time codes are detected automatically and highlighted, so you can copy them in one click.
Walk away
When you are done, close the tab. Forgotten mailboxes and their messages are cleaned from our servers automatically. You can also delete a mailbox at any time for instant removal.
What happens behind the scenes
Mail sent to your address is accepted at Cloudflare's edge and delivered to your mailbox within seconds. The inbox is just a web page, so there is nothing to install and nothing to configure. Retention is deliberately minimal: mailboxes and messages live only as long as they are useful, then are cleaned automatically. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is stored — and what is never stored — and for how long.
Extra tools in the app
- Multiple mailboxes. Keep one address per site or purpose so nothing leaks between sign-ups.
- Custom names. Pick a recognizable prefix when you want an address that is easy to spot in a list.
- QR pairing. Open the same inbox on your phone by scanning a QR code from your desktop.
- Forwarding rules. Route incoming mail onward to an address you control, for the rare message you want to keep.
- Recovery email. Optionally attach one so you can recover a mailbox you lose track of.
When to use your real email instead
Temporary inboxes are perfect for throwaway sign-ups, but they are the wrong tool when an account actually matters:
- Banking, payments, and finance. These accounts rely on email for security alerts and recovery.
- Government, medical, and legal correspondence. If it is official, use a durable address.
- Work and school. People will need to reach you long after this week.
- Anything you plan to keep. If you forget the password, the reset link goes to the email on file.
